Applicaction Process: 

Shortlist and interview

If you are shortlisted for a position you will be invited to attend a competency based interview conducted by the recruiting Line Manager and respective HRBP. Your interview usually comprises questions relating to your qualifications and past work experience, as well as assessing job relevant competencies such as problem-solving, leadership or interpersonal skills required for the post. You may also be asked to complete a business/technical assessment prior to your interview.


Employment screening 

Everyone who's offered a job with us is asked to take part in our employment screening process. The checks we do will depend on the role you've applied for. Checks may include education, residency, credit, criminal history and relevant professional qualifications. It is important for candidates to declare upfront anything that may negatively affect the application for a particular position.

Hints & Tips

Candidates applying for roles at Vodacom will be taken through a number of steps, from submitting their CV and completing case studies to telephone and face-to-face interviews.

Preparing your CV

Your CV is an important part of your application to Vodacom and is your first opportunity to demonstrate your qualities and achievements. This makes it easier for us to determine where you might best fit within our organisation.

Your CV can be provided in the format of a PDF document or Microsoft Word documents alternatively text formats are acceptable. All resumes and related materials (transcripts, etc.) should be submitted in English.

You should:

Ensure your contact details are up to date and that the CV is no more than two pages long.

Ensure you are familiar with the information submitted on your application and keep a copy of your CV to read before your interview.

Face-to-face interviews

 Make sure you arrive early and are fully prepared. This includes dressing appropriately and bringing your CV and any other required documents. Confirm the interview time and location in advance so there can be no confusion.

Know your strengths and be prepared to give examples of when you have demonstrated relevant skills. Focus on your role in these situations and the outcomes, without exaggerating. Make sure the interviewer knows that you are enthusiastic about the opportunity to work at Vodacom.

If you don't understand a question, ask the interviewer to repeat it

Ask when you can expect feedback

If you are successful at face-to-face interview, we will contact you and let you know what happens next.

Case Study

Once you have successfully completed your application, we may ask you come into our office to complete a case study prior to your face-to-face interview. These are designed to identify whether you have the skills required for the role and to assess your suitability for working at Vodacom. 

You will be asked to complete the case study under a controlled environment within a predefined timeframe. Following your success thereof you will then be asked to come in for the interview.
