Terms and conditions


Vodacom Choose Maikhethela Campaign (hereinafter referred to as the “Campaign”) is a Vodacom Lesotho marketing Campaign which shall apply the Terms and Conditions outlined hereunder.

1.5 The Campaign shall run from the 23rd November 2021 (being the first day) to the 28th February 2022 (last day inclusive).
Acceptance of Terms and Conditions
1.6 By participating in this Campaign, all entrants warrant that they have read and understood these Terms and Conditions which are available on the VODACOM website at www.vodacom.co.ls and VODACOM retail shops.
1.7 By subscribing to the Campaign, entrants confirm their voluntary participation and acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and agree:
1.7.1 to receive SMS communication from VODACOM on their mobile phones relating to the Campaign
1.7.2 to receive SMS communication/advertising offers from VODACOM relating to the Campaign
1.8 By opting in and participating in the Campaign, winners agree that their data, including names, surnames, initials, photos and video images, can be used by VODACOM for advertising purposes.
1.9 These Terms and Conditions shall remain in full force and effect for the duration of the Campaign (not taking into account temporary suspensions of the offer for operational reasons, e.g. for repairs, planned maintenance or upgrades).

  Eligibility to Participate in the Campaign
1.10 The following persons are eligible to participate in the Campaign:
1.10.1 Natural persons who are VODACOM customers during the Campaign, except those specifically excluded under article 1.11 below. 1.10.2 If a winner is under 18, upon delivery of the prize, the winner's guardian must collect it on the minor's behalf and he /she must produce his/her ID together with a legal document (this may include chief's letter, affidavit etc.) confirming that he/she is the legal guardian of the minor. 1.11 Excluded persons The following persons are excluded from participating in the Campaign:
  • Employees of VODACOM.
  • Immediate family members of the above, being parents, spouses, siblings, and children. Immediate family does NOT include in-laws, close relatives such as cousins, uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces, grandparents, and other extended family members.
  • Employees of Campaign suppliers and judges
  • Non-citizens of the Kingdom of Lesotho who are not legitimately in the country or may fail to provide any documents as may be requested by Vodacom.
  • Employees of any company directly collaborating with VODACOM for the purpose of executing this Campaign


1.12 VODACOM reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any provision of the Terms and Conditions.
1.13 By participating in the Campaign, entrants hereby warrant that all information submitted is true, current and complete.
Availability and accessibility of information
1.14 All information pertaining to the Campaign shall be published on the VODACOM website at www.vodacom.co.ls and Vodacom social media platforms and any queries relating thereto shall be submitted to the call center at 114.
1.15 VODACOM reserves the right to cancel or amend the Campaign and these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be made available on the VODACOM website.

Campaign Mechanics
1.16 The Campaign is open to Prepaid and Top-Up customers (“Customers”) who are not excluded by the aforementioned eligibility terms in clause 1.11.
1.17 To participate in the Campaign, Customers shall subscribe through dialing *777# then selecting Opt-In on the menu.
1.18 A participant can opt-out of the Campaign at any time by dialling *777# and selecting Opt-Out.
1.19 The opt-in and opt out mechanism shall be free of charge.
1.20 Customers who opt out of the Campaign shall be allowed to participate again by opting into the Campaign through the mechanism under 1.17.
1.21 Customers who have opted into the Campaign shall stand a chance to win cash and non-cash prizes under weekly and monthly draws through purchasing of eligible bundles, or subscription to services as outlined under 1.24.
1.22 To become eligible in the draws, a subscriber shall purchase any promotional All Net Voice bundles, Data Bundles, Nightshift data bundles, Next Level Bundles, Vodacom Ticket bundles, or by subscribing to the following services; InstaVoice, MyMuze and PlayInc for each defined week as outlined under 1.24. The bundles and subscription services are available on the USSD menu (*111#, *321#, *117#, *118#); M-Pesa menu (*200#), MyVodacomLesotho App and My Vodacom App Lite (available for download on my Playstore or The Vodacom website).
1.23 Qualifying days shall start on Tuesday 23rd November 2021, at 00:00:01 Hours and end at 23:59:59 Hours on Monday 28th February 2022.
1.24 Weekly draws shall be on Mondays and shall be for all eligible spend made during the previous week as outlined below;

1.25 A subscriber who has opted-in to the Campaign will only become eligible for the random weekly selection in the week following the week which they participated in.
1.26 Monthly draws shall be at the on the 13th December 2021, 24th January 2022, and 01st March 2022.
1.27 Participants shall only win one prize per qualifying week and one monthly prize for the duration of the Campaign
1.28 Prizes 1.28.1 Customers shall stand a stand to win cash and non-cash prizes such as petrol, electricity and grocery shopping vouchers, electronic devices (Smart phones and Television) and trolley dashes. under the weekly and monthly draws.
1.28.1.1 Customers shall also stand a stand to win free once off monthly 1400 All net minutes or 10GB monthly data bundles under the weekly draws.
1.28.1.2 Vouchers shall be at Vodacom's discretion.
1.28.1.3 Winners shall be at liberty to select a preferred method of delivery of the cash prizes. The available options shall be M-Pesa, cash, and bank transfer for cash prizes starting from M20, 000 and above. Cash prizes below M20, 000 will be collected at Vodacom Stores upon verification of subscriber identity. NB M-Pesa payments can be delivered to both registered and unregistered customers.

Notices and Redemption of Prizes
2.1 All winners shall be contacted by VODACOM via SMS and/or a phone call to their MSISDN number used to participate in the Campaign.
2.2 All winners will receive notices within seven (7) calendar days from the date of the draw.
2.3 All prizes will be delivered within thirty (30) working days from the day that the winner is contacted.
2.4 Winners of non-cash prizes shall sign an undertaking confirming that they are the legal holders of their VODACOM mobile and that they are entitled to the prize. Such winners shall be required to provide their identification documents in order to receive the prize.
2.5 Non-cash Prizes may be received by a representative of the winner by proxy upon written confirmation from the winner and certified copy of winner's identification. The following documents shall be accepted for confirmation of identification: National ID card, Driver's License or Passport.
2.6 If a winner cannot be contacted within thirty (30) calendar days from the draw date, or a notified winner refuses the prize or fails to appear to collect it within thirty (30) calendar days of notification, then VODACOM shall contact the runner-up winner (s) who will be awarded the prize(s). If none of the winners or runner-up winners accept the prize or do not show up within thirty (30) calendar days of notification, then the prize will remain the property of VODACOM.
2.7 Prizes shall not be transferable.

  3 Limitation of liability
3.1 VODACOM accepts no responsibility whatsoever including without limitation, any error, omission, interruption, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure when it is not under its direct control and execution.
4 Disclaimer of warranties
4.1 Participants understand and agree that they participate in this Campaign at their own risk and willingness and have not been coerced in any manner to enter.
4.2 VODACOM makes no warranty, implied or express, that any part of the Campaign will be uninterrupted and error-free.
4.3 Neither VODACOM nor any of its directors, employees, agents or suppliers shall accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant participating in the Campaign or as a result of accepting the prize.
4.4 VODACOM is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software failure of any email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, telephone lines or at any web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer or mobile telephone related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials associated with the Campaign .
4.5 By entering the Campaign, entrants agree that no claim relating to such losses or injuries (including special, indirect and consequential losses) shall be asserted against VODACOM, its parent companies, affiliates, directors, officers, employees or agents from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind resulting from acceptance or user of any prize, including without.

  5 Data Protection and Publicity
5.1 Personal data related to voice, image, names or address and any other relevant information obtained in connection with the Campaign will be used in a confidential manner and in line with the Vodacom Privacy Management Policy.
5.2 VODACOM shall not release personal information about participants of the Campaign to third parties unless required to do so in compliance with the governing law.

6 Suspension and termination of the Campaign
6.1 VODACOM reserves the right, whenever deemed necessary, to temporarily suspend the Campaign for operational reasons (e.g. for repairs, planned maintenance or upgrades) and undertakes to restore same as soon as possible after any temporary suspension period.
6.2 Interruption or early termination of the Campaign shall not release VODACOM from its obligation to give out already awarded prizes and execute all other actions required to give effect to such except for the cases when termination or interruption of the Campaign resulted from actions or events which are not under VODACOM's control.
6.3 VODACOM shall notify subscribers of any termination or suspension of the Campaign
  7 Dispute Resolution
VODACOM's decision regarding the Campaign and /or Terms and Conditions shall be final.
7.1 In any case of disagreement or disputes relating to Vodacom's decision, participants shall lodge their complaints with VODACOM for amicable resolution of the same which shall be settled through private good faith negotiations.
7.2 If the dispute is not resolved within fourteen (14) working days of an attempt to resolve such or the aggrieved party is not happy with the outcome, then he/she shall lodge a complaint with the Lesotho communications Authority and shall further be at liberty to exercise any other rights or remedies in law.
