Vodacom Lesotho donates M150,000 to LDF’s Youth Bootcamp

Maseru (18 July 2023) – Vodacom Lesotho Foundation, the charitable arm of Vodacom Lesotho donated M150,000.00 as a contribution in support of the Lesotho Defence Force’s Youth Development Programme. The handover happened at Ratjomose Barracks on Tuesday this week.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vodacom Lesotho’s Executive Head of Regulatory and External Affairs and Head of the Foundation, Mr Tšepo Ntaopane said through the donation, Vodacom Lesotho through the Foundation was committing to a partnership with the LDF’s noble initiative of empowering Basotho youth, while also instilling national pride and patriotism. This was noted to be in alignment with the Foundation pillar to develop and empower youth in its drive to Connect for Good.

The Commander of Lesotho Defence Force, Lieutenant General Mojalefa Letsoela thanked Vodacom Lesotho, through the Vodacom Lesotho Foundation, for its support. He said the partnership will ensure that both Vodacom and Lesotho Defence Force and the broader Lesotho economy get properly trained and morally grounded workforce.

Vodacom Lesotho Foundation was established in 2009 with a mandate to invest in critical areas of development, in line with the Government of Lesotho's national strategic development plan and The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The Foundation’s key pillars are health, education, economic empowerment, gender equity, and youth development.
