Can I apply for funeral cover as a Mosotho living out of Lesotho?
Yes you can, as long as you have a valid Lesotho National Identity Card.
Will my premium rate be affected by inflation?
Our funeral premiums are fixed as well as our benefits.
Can I decide who receives my benefit?
You can nominate the beneficiary of your choice at inception, and you also have the option to change it anytime.
What happens if I miss a premium payment?
There is a 15 days grace period.
Will my premiums be refunded if I cancel my funeral policy?
No, you won’t get any refunds back.
Can I buy more than one policy?
Yes, but each policy is per Vodacom Lesotho SIM Card.
What is the waiting period for funeral benefits?
4 months waiting period for natural death, and Accidental death has NO waiting period, it gets paid immediately.
Does Vodacom Mpate Sheleng cover suicide?
Yes, suicide can be covered and the waiting period is 2 years.
Will my family remain covered after my death?
No, the cover gets cancelled if the policyholder passes
Can I reinstate my policy if it has lapsed?
If the policy has lapsed the member may apply for a new policy.
Can I downgrade my policy if I am feeling the pinch?
Policy downgrades can be done anytime and are not subject to the waiting period, they are effective immediately.
Do I serve the waiting period for the upgrades or new members on my policy?
Policy upgrades are subject to the waiting period
Can I register a policy for my neighbour or long-time girl/boyfriend/fiancée?
No, policies can only be registered for people that you have an insurable interest in, and whose relationship with them can be legally proven.
