Digital and Value-Added Services (VAS)


These Terms and Conditions apply to all Digital and Value-Added Services (“VAS”) offered by Vodacom Lesotho “Vodacom” to its subscribers.

Digital Services provide subscribers with voice and data resources to access digital platforms and applications such as social media platforms, music, games, video applications, and informative or educational websites.

Value-added services (VAS) are content, or application offers provided to subscribers further to the primary services (Voice and Data) and may include but are not limited to subscription services, call-related services such as call waiting, call forwarding, multiparty conferencing, voice mail, call ring back tone, services using or depending on Short Codes i.e. MMS, USSD based applications, etc.

By using and/or subscribing to the Vodacom Digital Services and Value-Added Services (“Services”) subscribers agree to these terms and conditions.

Digital and Value-added Services apply specific Business Rules which form part of the General Prepaid Terms and Conditions available on the Vodacom Lesotho website vodacom.co.ls If there is any difference between the Business Rules and the General Prepaid Terms and Conditions the specific Business Rules will apply.

Applicable Business Rules for Digital and Value-Added Services

  1. Digital Services
    1. Vodacom Tickets
      Vodacom Tickets offer subscribers time-based access to videos, music, and social media platforms such as DSTV Now, Netflix, YouTube, Apple Music, SoundCloud, Facebook, WhatsApp, and TikTok. Other Platforms may be added to and/or removed from this list as the service evolves. They apply the below business rules.
      1. These offers are available to Prepaid, Top-up, and Post-paid subscribers.
      2. To access/use the bundles, a subscriber shall subscribe to the relevant social media platforms and download the relevant applications if they wish to use the bundles on an application. The tickets can be used exclusively in line with the subscriber’s subscription payment for the platform/s.
      3. Subscribers shall be required to pay the subscription cost to access and/or use the content on the relevant platform to which they are subscribed.
      4. Subscribers who are already subscribed to these applications shall not be required to subscribe and will only be required to purchase bundles to gain access to the relevant content as long as their subscription is valid.
      5. The bundles shall be restricted to the relevant platforms only and access to other content shall be charged from other existing data bundles if other bundles are purchased or at the applicable out-of-bundle rate in line with our OOB mechanism.
      6. The bundles shall be purchased from the USSD self-help menu using subscriber airtime.
      7. A subscriber shall receive notification via SMS of a successful bundle purchase for the bundle (s) subscribed for.
      8. The bundles shall expire when the subscribed period lapses. For instance, the hourly bundles shall expire after the lapse of the hour (s) subscribed for, and daily bundles shall expire at midnight on the day of purchase.
      9. The applicable out-of-bundle rates shall apply for access to the platforms beyond the time subscribed for, in line with the existing OOB mechanism.
      10. Subscribers shall receive usage notifications via SMS before out-of-bundle charging. The transition shall not be automatic.
      11. Once a subscriber has purchased a bundle, there shall not be any reversals.
      12. A subscriber shall be able to purchase a combination of bundles under a single category or between different categories.
      13. The Vodacom Ticket bundles shall take precedence over any bundle already purchased by the subscriber.
      14. Subscribers shall be able to check the balances on the bundles purchased.
      15. Exclusions:
        1. Subscribers will not be able to make purchases from their bonus airtime.
    2. MyMuze and PlayInc
      1. MyMuze
        This is a subscription-based offer that provides access to local and international music streaming. It applies the below business rules.
        1. MyMuze is available to all Vodacom subscribers with data-capable mobile devices.
        2. It is available on Web and on the MyMuze Application (App).
        3. Subscribers may subscribe to the service via USSD *230*2# or on the Webpage. Additionally, a link will be made available on the Vodacom Website and the My Vodacom Application as a re-direct.
        4. Streaming and accessing content on the Application (App) shall require data usage. However, browsing on the App and the relevant webpage www.mymuze.com/ls shall be zero-rated.
        5. Subscribers on Wi-Fi or other data networks will be presented with a login screen to enter their Vodacom number (MSISDN) before successfully accessing MyMuze.
        6. A subscriber will receive an authentication code via SMS to enter his/her MSISDN.
        7. The Subscriber’s Subscription shall be billed from either the subscriber's airtime or M-Pesa wallet.
        8. MyMuze subscriptions shall recur unless canceled by the subscriber.
        9. Daily subscriptions shall be valid for 24 hours and weekly subscriptions shall be valid for 7 days from the date of subscription.
        10. Subscribers shall be able to unsubscribe to the subscribed services at any time by selecting the "Cancel" option on their subscription profile.
        11. Subscribers shall have the option to download and save music subscribed to on the platform. All music saved onto the subscriber's MyMuze App can be played offline at no additional cost to the Subscriber.
        12. There shall be a subscription payment grace period of 48 hours for recurring subscriptions.
        13. A subscriber shall receive 3 reminders/triggers during the grace period to deduct subscriptions before their subscription is terminated.
        14. Exclusions:
          1. Subscribers will not be able to subscribe from their bonus airtime.
      2. Playlnc

        This is a subscription-based offer that provides access to games. It applies the below business rules.
        1. These offers are available to Prepaid, Top-up, and Post-paid subscribers.
        2. To access/use the bundles, a subscriber shall subscribe to the relevant social media platforms and download the relevant applications if they wish to use the bundles on an application.   2. Value Added Services
    1. Football Updates
      This is a subscription-based service that enables subscribers to follow football match alerts. It applies the below business rules.
      1. The service is available to all Vodacom Lesotho subscribers (Prepaid, Hybrid, and Postpaid).
      2. It is available on all cellphone models/types.
      3. To access the service, Dial *111# and select Entertainment Vodacom Football Alternative Shortcut Dial *117*2# or SMS “Keyword” to 1177
      4. Subscriptions shall pay a weekly subscription amount of M0.50 Lisente.
      5. The subscription is valid for 7 days.
      6. Subscription is renewed automatically.
      7. A subscriber will receive an SMS notification on the 5th day from the day of subscription to alert them of the automatic renewal.
      8. If at the end of the 7 days, the subscriber has not opted out of the service but does not have enough balance, there shall be a grace period of 4 days.
      9. During the grace period the account will be continually queried and if there is adequate balance, then the subscription is renewed. The subscriber retains access to the service during the grace period.
      10. If at the end of the four-day grace period the subscriber does not have sufficient credit, the account shall be suspended and will be continuously queried for automatic renewal.
      11. The suspension period shall last for four days. During the suspension, the subscriber can no longer access the service.
      12. If at the end of the suspension period, the subscriber does not have sufficient credit, then they will be terminated from the service.
      13. At all the different stages: grace, suspension, and termination, the subscriber shall be engaged and alerted via SMS.
      14. The subscriber can unsubscribe from the service either through USSD or SMS on *117*2# or SMSing “Keyword” to 1177.
    2. InstaVoice
      This is a voice blog service that allows subscribers to interact with celebrities and football clubs. It applies the below business rules.
      1. The service is available to all Vodacom Lesotho subscribers (Prepaid, Hybrid, and Postpaid).
      2. It is available on all cellphone models through:
        1. a. IVR call for access of new content, and,
        2. b. Smartphones via the InstaVoice “Voicemail & Missed Call Alerts” application.
      3. It is a daily subscription service that charges M1.50 per day.
      4. To subscribe to/ access InstaVoice, a subscriber shall dial USSD *118# or SMS “SUB” to 1188.
      5. Subscribers shall SMS Keywords: SPORT, ENTERTAINMENT, CELEBRITIES, NEWS, or AFRICAN FOOTBALL STARS to 1188 to receive relevant content.
      6. The first day of subscription is free and a subscriber can unsubscribe at any time.
      7. On days where there is no content available, the subscription shall be transferred to the following day.
      8. When the subscriber does not have sufficient credit, no content will be delivered to him or her.
      9. A subscriber only has access to content posted after they subscribe.
      10. No historical data will be available, meaning the subscriber will only have access to content uploaded from the day of their subscription and not before they had subscribed.
      11. To Unsubscribe a subscriber shall SMS “UNSUB” to 1188.
    3. 2.3. Meloli Welcome Tones
      This is a service that allows subscribers to select a song of their choice that will be heard by a caller when their number is being dialed. It applies the below business rules.
      1. Meloli Welcome Tones are available to Vodacom Prepaid, Top-up, and Contract subscribers.
      2. The service will be available to a subscriber who has opted in for the service using the USSD code *117# and following the prompts.
      3. A subscriber has the option to select multiple songs, and the songs will only be available for re-use within the seven (7) day subscription period.
      4. Each ring back tone will be charged at M0.65 per song and shall be valid for seven (7) days from date of purchase.
      5. Two (2) days before the expiry of a Welcome tone, an SMS notification will be sent out to remind the subscriber that the Welcome tone will expire and also prompt the subscriber to either opt out after the seventh (7) day if they would not like to continue the service or to select a new welcome tone.
      6. If no action is taken by the subscriber after the seventh (7th) day and the subscriber does not have an airtime balance to permit another purchase, they will be provided a three (3) days grace period.
      7. During the three (3) days grace period, the ring-back tone will continue to be active, and the account will be queried every day for availability of credit.
      8. The account will be suspended should there be no credit at the end of the 3-day grace period following the renewal date.
      9. If there is no available credit at the end of the suspension period (a further 3 days), the services will be terminated.
      10. Should there be sufficient credit available on any day during the grace or suspension period, then the service will be reactivated, and the subscriber will continue to have the current ring back tone.
      11. The calling party will be able to copy (purchase) the called party's ring back tone by pressing (*) when the called party's ringtone is playing. Upon his/her purchase, the applicable Business Rules shall apply.
      12. Where a subscriber migrates to a different Prepaid tariff plan, they will retain the purchased ring tones.
      13. Prepaid subscribers migrating to contract and vice-versa (contract migrating to prepaid) will retain their purchased ringtones.
      14. The subscriber has the option to opt out of the service at any time by dialing USSD *117#.
      15. AAAA
        1. a. Subscribers will not be able to subscribe using their bonus airtime.
    4. Airtime Transfer
      This is a service that allows a subscriber to transfer airtime to another Vodacom Lesotho Subscriber. It applies the below business rules.
      1. Airtime transfer is accessible on *111# and *123*01*number*amount#.
      2. On *111#, the minimum amount that can be transferred is M5.00 and maximum amount is M100.
      3. On *123*01*number*amount# the minimum amount that can be transferred is M1.00 and maximum is any amount less than the amount in the sender’s account.
      4. A subscriber shall transfer airtime by dialing *123*01*number*amount# SEND, and then confirm the request by pressing 1, or cancel by pressing 2.
      5. Only whole amounts can be transferred. Decimal amounts, e.g., 1.20, 2.05, cannot be transferred.
      6. There is no limit to how many times a subscriber can make an airtime transfer for as long as they have sufficient credit.
      7. There are no charges applicable for the service.
