International Roaming


  1. Definitions
    For the purposes of these terms and conditions:
    1. "International Roaming service" (“Service”) refers to a service that allows Vodacom customers to make and receive voice calls, send and receive SMSs and to use data services, while traveling outside of Lesotho.
    2. “Home network” refers to the network of the customer (Vodacom Lesotho).
    3. “Home Country” refers to Lesotho.
    4. “Host/Visited network” means the service provider on whose network a Vodacom subscriber roams on
    5. “Roaming Bundles" refers to packages that allow you to use International Roaming services at bundled rates, this may include SMS, Data, Voice, and a combination of the different resources.
    6. “You” refers to You, our customer(s)
    7. “Vodacom” means Vodacom Lesotho.

  2. Eligibility
    1. The service is available to all Vodacom prepaid, hybrid, and post-paid customers,

  3. How to access and use the international roaming service
    1. Customers shall access the service after successful activation of the service.
    2. Prepaid customers shall activate the service by dialling 1182 for free.
    3. Post-paid customers can call customer care to activate international roaming international services at (114) or contact their account manager to get assistance to activate the service.
    4. The service must be activated while the customer is still in the Home country.
    5. Roaming activation is only required the first time you travel outside of the country.
    6. Roaming de-activation is not required when a customer returns to the Home Country (Lesotho); the local plan that the Customer has subscribed to will automatically apply.
    7. You will be able to access our Call Centre when you are using the Service on this number +2665114, only while roaming on Vodacom SA. This is not a free call, a rate of M2.90 will apply per minute.

  4. Billing and Charging
    1. International Roaming may be more expensive compared to your local. Please check the rates applicable to your intended destination(s) available on our website at www.vodacom.co.ls
    2. You shall be charged different rates for making calls, sending SMS, receiving calls, or using data while You use the Service depending on the roaming partner.
    3. You will not be charged for receiving SMSs.
    4. Post-paid customers will be charged for the service from their credit limits.

  5. Roaming Presence
    Vodacom Lesotho has a roaming presence in the countries outlined on this link international-roaming

  6. Recharging
    1. You must have airtime to access the service where it is available.
    2. Prepaid customers can recharge their account while roaming using MPesa (*200#) or Airtime recharge and or transfer for self or from another subscriber (*123*MSISDN*Amount#) or bundle purchase (*111#).

  7. Vodacom roaming bundles
    1. A customer can purchase Roaming Bundles (“Bundles”) through the USSD code *111# or the My Vodacom App channel.
    2. After purchasing a Bundle (s), a customer will receive an SMS notification confirming their bundled purchase.
    3. A customer shall receive a notification SMS message for depletion of bundles when you reach 50%, 70%, and 100% on their bundle usage /consumption.
    4. Vodacom shall make customers aware of the destinations where they can use bundles to roam on our platforms.
    5. Roaming bundles shall only be used in the countries and/or networks mentioned in these Terms and Conditions Roaming Data Bundles
    6. A customer shall be charged out-of-bundle rate for accessing and using the roaming service without purchasing bundles. The applicable out-of-bundle rate shall be outlined in our roaming tariff available on our website (www.vodacom.co.ls).

  8. Restrictions
    1. Local bundles will not be used to access international roaming.

  9. Notices, Amendments and Communication
    1. Vodacom reserves the right to update, change, or amend the applicable bundles and countries where the service is available. Any updates, changes, or amendments will be posted on the website at www.vodacom.co.ls
    2. Vodacom reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions and where such amendment is material, Vodacom will provide the customer with reasonable prior written notice before implementing such change.

  10. Privacy
    1. • Vodacom shall protect and keep your personal information and communication private and not disclose it to unauthorized persons.
    2. • Vodacom shall process your information in accordance with the law.
